Our brother Alejandro was saved by grace through faith as a young boy. After surviving his teenage years, he was sent by his first church to serve as a member of a founding team. From there he was commissioned to be one of the pastors of the Iglesia Biblica Metropolitana ( IBM) in Lecheria, Venezuela from 2002. He worked in a Cement Factory for 17 years in the area of Electrical Engineering. In 2009, he resigned from this job to become a full time pastor at IBM. In 2010, he completed his pastoral internship at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC. In 2013, he completed his Bachelor's Degree in Theology at the Bible Institute of Las Delicias (IBLD) in Caripe, Venezuela, where he also taught Hermeneutics for two years. In 2021 he graduated from the Master of Theology Program at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been happily married to Maribí since 1997, with whom God has allowed him to see their children Rebeca and Benjamin born and raised.
Our brother Alejandro has translated several books and written articles for both 9Marks and Gospel Coalition. He loves baseball, basketball and scuba diving. He also enjoys reading good books on Apologetics, Puritan Legacy, Systematic Theology, and Church History. He is passionate about serving men and women of all ages and backgrounds to come to Christ and training them to become leaders and ministers, modeling the character of Christ and showing the world the Love of God as we give all glory to God together.
Since 2017 he has been commissioned by Restoration Church and the North American Mission Board in partnership with the 1:8 Church Planting Network to found the Sublime Grace Bible Church in the Columbia Heights area of Washington, DC. Brother Alejandro's primary responsibilities include regular exposition of the Word of God; oversight of the overall church project, leadership training, community development and general logistics necessary to sustain the life of the church.
Brother Juan Manuel Vega came to the feet of Christ at the age of 26 after recognising his great need for the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour and Lord and finding his purpose in Him.
Juan grew up in Bogotá, Colombia under the Christian influence of his grandmother Ana, who taught him the Gospel from an early age. In his university years, the Lord showed Juan his deep need of salvation for the forgiveness of his sins and for his eternal joy and happiness, he was saved by grace through faith by the Lord Jesus Christ.
From the time of his salvation, John has had a passion for evangelism and teaching the Scriptures to believers and non-believers. John serves as one of the elders of Sublime Grace Bible Church where he has the privilege and joy of serving in the ministry of preaching the word of God and discipling a group of men of the church, and caring for the members of the church.
Juan is happily married to Diana since 2019, and has the joy of serving with her at the Sublime Grace Bible Church plant. Juan has had the privilege of serving alongside brother Alejandro Molero since 2017 in the church plant, having been sent by Temple Hills Baptist Church in Maryland to support the planting project. Juan loves the Lord and His Word and looks forward to the future for all that He is doing in the Hispanic community in Washington, DC and to the ends of the earth.
